Spice Pomfret/Pomfret fish curry/Pomfret Recipe
To Bengali's, it is madness to praise fish. However, even among the fish, marine fish like hilsa, pomfret etc. are not only remarkable in taste, they are rich in omega-3 and their nutritional value is immense. So enjoy this spicy pomfret (pomfret fish curry) with hot white rice.
Ingredients:
- Pomfret fish - 2pcs
- 1 medium sized Onion Finely chopped
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/2 Table Spoon
- Poppy Seeds - 1 Table Spoon
- Mustard Seeds - 1 Tea Spoon
- Cumin Powder - 1/2 Tea Spoon
- Coriander Powder - 1/2 Tea Spoon
- Tomato Puree - 1 Cup
- Curd/Yogart - 1 Table Spoon
- Green Chilli Paste as per taste
- Green Chilli slitted
- Salt
- Sugar
- Turmeric Powder
- Mustard oil
Instructions:
1. Finely grind the mustard and poppy seeds with a little salt.2. After marinating the pomfret fish with salt and turmeric for 10 minutes, fry it in mustard oil.
3. Put oil in another pan. When the oil is hot, fry the onion and ginger garlic paste and add coriander, cumin powder, chili paste and turmeric and fry for a while. After some time, add the tomato puree and stir and cook.
4. When oil is released from the spice, add yogurt and mix well. When the oil is released, dissolve the mustard paste in a little water and add the required amount of water and then sugar and salt.
5. When the gravy boils, spread the raw chilli and the fried pomfret fish and cover and let it boil.
6. After 10 minutes, stir once again well and once the oil separates on top of the gravy, cook for another 5 minutes and turn off the gas.
7. Now your dish Pomfret Fish Curry ready to serve.
